There has been some trade in A4 size poetry, (the size equates to normal printer paper), between me and Jane. Just letting everyone know because this is a handy way of obtaining some works you can frame very reasonably. Happy trading!

The next picture was supose to go in my Crone Janes workshop but I must have not changed the blog. Once I saw it posted here it dawned on me that perhaps, if anyone else pieces together fabric as I do, you may want to trade me something for a square that I could post..or two..for front and back of a tote..or...? Just give me the measurements...Jane

Currently I have been wasting fabric and time trying to find the best products and material to stamp on for a sea theme for a tote I am designing. FINALLY I have found a shiny satin that receives luminous paint. I am excited now. So much time is sent in discovery. Now I am off to try to find different colors to companion with it.

I also collect miniatures . This is Marble (I think) from India. Size a bit larger then most of mine which go down to 1/4 inch. This one is 2 1/2 inches by 4 inch tall.

Good morning traders. I have quite a few things to trade and am always working in different media�s.. As I am working in fabric art right now I would like anything I can embellish with or trading cards I can transfer to cloth or rubber stamps or�.you name it. I am going to try to put in a little from every different thing I enjoy so my needs are wide. The first art form I work in is metal engraving. The two pictures I am showing are very small. The frame is 6 inches x 6 inches and the engraved piece is three� x 3�. I have four in the same type of frames. Quite light weight so don� worry about my postage. I have some totes to put together today so will see you again tomorrow.

Within this Trading Room, the only currency that

ever changes hands is the price of postage.

Negotiate an item swap with any traveller.

Exchange things you no longer use, for

something another traveller no longer needs,

and renovate your resources with new possibilities.

Trading goods are treasures of self-help books, poetry books,

novels, magazines, cards, art, and any audio visual item,

such as CD's, DVD's, Audio Book, or video.

The trade must be like for like so the postage is the

same, to allow for a fair exchange across

the miles.

A likely swap would be poetry book for poetry

book, a slim volume you have read and has

been good for a time, but you have moved on.

Announce the availability of this book on

the Trading Room blog, and wait for a

response. Post an image of the trade item

or items, if necessary.

Interested parties can post

an arrangement/negotiate a swap in the

comments section, and the final details of

the exchange can be arranged by email.

Heather has a list that can be used for your

reference.

Your collection can now be free of things you no

longer need, and you will get back a

new treasure to be inspired by.

The main thing to remember is that

postage cost should be the same for the

exchange, dollar for dollar, but the actual

item will always be a free exchange.

Recently Heather began sketching, after never having sketched in her fifty five years. The most she did was use some colour pencils to enter Corinella's colouring competition which was featured in Melbourne's Herald Sun when she was still a child.

Since retiring to look after her husband Heather has made sketching a daily practice and over a short period has found the genre that suits her best. She has returned, for inspiration, to the Fairy Tales and Myths that comforted her as a child.

This week she accepted the challenge of illustrating a book for faucon of Sakinel entitled Limora's Gate.If you want Heather to illustrate any work for you just drop a line to Monika Roleff at Hermitage Publications or write directly to Heather. She will no doubt barter with you and come to some arrangement that suits everyone.

"Have you ever wanted to package your journey words of wisdom in a way that is individual and unique?"

Many writers have found success in self-publishing small scale works which are important to them, leading on to bigger and better things. This publishing house has lots of space for:

one off works of writing, with art as its silent partner, and these can be bound securely in a portable, appropriately durable fashion. No need for conventional binding, be creative. May also be a series of booklets, or pics with words.
works to order from a hand made example facility, so that if a work is admired, and more is wanted, another can be made up, and also tailored to that person, such as in a gift situation. So many people I know hunt high and low for something original they can give their loved ones and friends, and there is nothing better than an original work of art and words.
unusual concepts, such as a poem printed on an origami fold with fancy paper, packaged in an attractive envelope ready to send to a friend in need of written sustenance with a twist.
unusual styles of writing such as illuminated manuscript calligraphy works, stunning visual typefaces, old fashioned type, and bold graphics with a message of course, for those on the journey.
collections of poetry packaged on beautiful paper in a unique presentation folder. Collection needs to have a cohesive theme, i.e. animal poems, nature poems, love poems, haunting poems, journey poems, with a name by which it will be known. Substitute writings for poems if they are on a consistent theme.
photopic journey albums made up of your work that you feel comfortable to share on a small scale, made up in a photo album with words to tell the story. (Heather's sketches and Fran's donkey and dolphin stories and pics come to mind.)
unique paper types with words, such as hand-made paper, paper with flower petals embedded in it, hand-dyed paper with words, rice paper and similar types, or your own individual invention. Be adventurous, try new things. Experiment with themes and styles.
inspiration card variations with supportive messages for those on the journey, single trip journals with advice, journey preparation mini-books (what to pack), mini-books with cautions on the road, etc. It must be authentic experience gained from personal journeying.
Be sure to email photos of work to me when you are ready to share your unique concept. I plan to use an excerpt from written works and mini books on the blogger, as well as the short description and pic, so include the part you want to highlight the most, and I will post it. Include appropriate descriptions about the works and how they are to be used, etc. Just the main features. Make sure your name or personal ID stamp, name (or alias) and copyright is somewhere on the product. Include envelopes when something is designed to be sent to friends as a gift.

The theme we are trying to capture is the thin line untouched by mass market publishing and conventional gifts. We want to show a point of difference from the things already available out there. We want our friends all over the world to share words and art with us, to create a world of beauty and uncommon sense! Write on and create your masterpieces!
